ashareem: feeling my Roma-Jewish ancestry (very distant!) (Default)
[personal profile] ashareem
-Name you would like to go by: Ashareem is fine. It's a portmanteau of my name and initials

-Present path or tradition: Traditionalist Witch/Bon Buddhist

-Interests: Genealogy, philosophy, folklore, fairy tales, reading, writing, and a lot more.

-Age (not mandatory): I've rolled around ol' Sol 63 times. 64 will be at the end of August.

-Brief Bio:

I've been a lot of things in my life: Southern Baptist, American Baptist, almost-a-Jew (my Rabbi talked me out of it), Druid, Witch, Wiccan. I was known as Moondancer for a whole lot of years in various pagan forums and magazines. I'm also a moderator in The Witches Almanac and Transpagan Facebook groups.
I was originally initiated in 1973 into a Georgian Tradition coven, I've also studied other traditions as well. My primary practice is that of Gwen Thompson's NECTW with additional elements from Joe Wilson's 1734, Gwydion Pendderwen's Feri bits and pieces he shared with me back in the 70s, and the witchcraft tradition the late Fran Culter of Tacoma. I'm also member of AODA and a former member of ADF, as well as a Gardnerian 1st degree, and a White Cord initiate of NROOGD. Like I said, lots of things.
I completed transition late in life; tried transitioning several times earlier, but life kept getting in the way, so I helped raise three kids with my wife. We've been together since 1981.

Hello friends! New to Dreamwidth, and looking for some active Pagans to follow and share ideas with.

-Name you would like to go by:

I use Haptalaon

-Present path or tradition:

Developing my own, but it's currently something like...

Wicca-adjacent green animism, rooted in North-European folklore, expressed as traditional craft/Devil-work/pop culture paganism/ceremonial magic, with a chaos approach.

Which is to say, I'm very interested in learning from Pagans of all kinds - even people who aren't doing exactly the same thing. I like to mix it up and experiment, and combine approaches.

-Interests:

This blog is primarily Pagan focused; I post book reviews, and ideas I'm exploring. I'm pretty serious about developing my eclectic work in a more structured way, as A New Tradition rather than just "messy stuff I'm doing", so reflecting a lot, and trying to deconstruct and rebuild practices and experiment and play with them.

-Age (not mandatory):
Inhabiting this mortal shell since 1989/serious Pagan since 2012

-Brief Bio:

My gender identity is coward.
