I've been on DW for years but only noticed this community existed today. Uh. Hi!

-Name you would like to go by: hrafn is good here; I'm Fjothr elsewhere.

-Present path or tradition: Ummmm that's a good question. IDEFK. "Norse-influenced free-range spirit worker"? I'm a Lokean. I worship a lot of other Norse gods and jotnar, plus land spirits, plant spirits, and various and sundry Others from 2 or 3 other pantheons.

-Interests: Plants, ecology, environmentalism, birds, bugs, science fiction & fantasy

-Age (not mandatory): mid-40s

-Brief Bio: Grew up in Oregon as an atheist in a non-religious family. Spent lots of time outside. Grew up, eventually ended up in the Boston area. Tried to get into architecture - got a degree and then the economy tanked. Got god-bothered in my late 30s, dropped atheism with surprisingly little struggle, and pretty much upended my entire life as part of that whole process. Moved back to the beautiful, comfortable, Pacific Northwest, which is Home, gave up on the architecture thing for good and have been working towards work with plants and landscape for the last several years, with much help from all of Them. I'm currently working at a garden center, which is LOADS better than desk work, but still not quite What I Want to Be When I Grow Up.

So I've been looking for a group like this, I'd like to talk to more occult minded people.

Name you would like to go by: Nikki or Moon doll.

-Present path or tradition: Spiritualist

-Interests: writing, painting, art, divination, witchcraft, mainly everything occult.

-Age (not mandatory): 22

-Brief Bio:

Always been called a moon child/ flower child. I've had prophetic dreams since I was a child and just...have always been drawn to this kind of stuff. I'm US bound and finally have a bit of a purpose- even if I do get emotional - but that's just being human.

here's the cards: 12 of them in a circle, for the 12 months and then one in the center for the general theme. I got star in the middle.

then :

January- inverted hanged man

February- inverted temperance

March- five of cups-

April- page of swords-

May- The Devil.

June- Seven of swords

July- nine of swords

August- page of cups

September Queen of wands

October- king of coins

November- reversed The world

December 7 of cups

From my interpretation the star is telling me that I'm on the right path and should keep my faith. January is going to be full of changes, and everything is going to get out of whack in Febuary- more so than it already has. While march is going to start off hopeful- but things will be shattered by the second half of the month. April, again will have some hope/something good happen in it. but that's not going to work out and by May we're going to see changes that cause a lot of fear . June is saying that everybody should watch their backs and prepare for a betrayal of some kind, while we're all going to feel beaten down come July but come august we should all just go for it. In September I'm expecting some woman to take political center stage , and October will see material satisfaction and wealth gains for someone. In November, I'm interpreting this as meaning something big with climate change, global warming and the state of the world. while December will be one big confusing mess leading us into 2020.

What do y'all think?

as half or more of the participants seem to have found out this week. Including myself.

-Name you would like to go by: Ari (though this name doesn't look like it'll remain for more than a few more years. Long story). He/him or they/them pronouns, yet to figure out which fit better (again, long story).

-Present path or tradition: Still figuring things out, but very eclectic.

-Interests: science fiction & fantasy, filk, pretty much anything creative, astronomy & astrology, nature, animals, plenty more

-Age (not mandatory): no longer a teenager.

-Brief Bio: Raised by a fiercely Catholic pair of parents in Massachusetts. Mother had some prophetic dreams when younger but has enough trouble making sense of this world that she gave up on making sense of anything more in her teens. I started meditating around age ten, realized I was trans and/or nonbinary around age 15, and those got me out of the Catholic mindset. I've had a ridiculous track record regarding direct answers to prayers from quite a variety of deities, starting around age 11, and prophetic dreams of my own started shortly thereafter. My guitar may or may not have a life of its own, however, and very much pushed me over the edge into actual pagan practices last summer. Everything's gotten weirder from there. (Weirder, for instance: the mated pair of corvids on my college campus have taken to changing size mid-flight. Yep. There's a reason no one on campus knows anymore if they're crows or ravens.)
