Out of curiosity --

Does anybody have experience with how to deal with a combination of sudden revelation courtesy of a deity you've never worshipped (and the deity respects that) and an upgrade from panic-inducing prophetic dreams to prophetic jokes while awake? Currently trying to sort through all the stuff that happened today.

Stay Grounded and use your Common Sense. My suggestion is to remind you to think Practically. If They have never been Human or haven't for a long time they don't Know what our shortcomings are Physically and Socially. I've had too many friends over the last 4 decades "get lost in Glamour" and disappear into the cities Transient population.
Beings of a Chaotic Nature are even more difficult since They generally don't care that you need to keep food on your plate and a roof over your head. Friends can help you for a short time but if you make a habit of thinking "The Universe(My Friends) Will Provide" you'll end up in a Bad Place.....

Thanks. Finals this coming week, so studying is helping to Ground.
In this instance, mostly just the combination of things and the "wait what" confusion were really hitting me. Still is hitting me, really, but a bit better now. Hopefully the beings in question sort out what they're doing soon enough; I'm carefully ignoring them with the express purpose of schoolwork.

That's best. You seem to have good sense, which a we all know is much less common than "common" sense;>!
One problem I can foresee is with non-traditional Beings. Those with a bit of surviving Lore at least can give you a "feel" how those in the Past felt about Their Nature. One's with little to none unfortunately leave you with just yourself to Judge and I've run into too many folks of the "Spirit Beings =Good" mindset whose Lives floated to the top of the tank after some Tricksy Wight got through with them.
One thing that helps in these conditions is if you have a relationship with any of the more well-documented Beings so you are pretty sure They are who They say They are. They can give you "backup". Just mentioning Their Name(s) can give some lowly Wight the idea that you aren't a good "toy".
There was a New Age Humor book in the 80's and one thing in it has stuck with me since; "Just because They're DEAD, doesn't make Them SMART". And that's those that used to be Human. Don't get me started on folks who are getting material from the Metaphysical equivalent of a squirrel or Blue-jay;>.
